Basically the problem is that after system goes through S3, it goes slower and slower over time. It’s not that immediately after S3 it’s slow, only gradually degrade over time. Doing another S3 “resets” it back to good state, and it starts degrading again. As for “slow” definition, the user reported problem is “Audio and video stutters”. But more specific test case is playback of 1s mp3 file via vlc, into a file (so, not an audio device) - on fresh boot and just after S3 it takes 0-2ms, but after 30min it takes 10-15ms already and after 1h it takes over 20ms. After waiting long enough it crosses 1s at which point any hope for audio playback is lost.
